Formal Dresses
In the recent years, formal dresses have undergone massive transformation. As against the earlier former dresses, modern formal dresses are more comfortable and are designed to bring style without being burdensome to wearer.
Broadly, the formal dresses can be segregated into three main categories:
- Cocktail Dresses
- Military Ball Room Gown
- Prom Evening Gown/Bridesmaid Gown
Cocktail dresses are considered to be least formal of all the dresses. The length of the dress is not standard. You can choose a tee gown reaching up to your ankles or a dress that reaches below the knees. Short dresses should be avoided at cocktail parties as far as possible. Cocktail parties are more of a casual event where the women socialize. Be careful of what you wear at the party, since all the dresses at such parties are closely scrutinized by the invitees. Based on the event you can select a pricey dress or modest formal dresses.
If you are attending a military ball room party, then you had better watch what you wear. This is considered to be the most sophisticated and formal event. For these events, you have to wear a floor reaching gown. Ideally, choose silk or any other elegant formal dresses for such events. Strapless formal dresses are considered to be the in thing for such occasions. The advantage of strapless dress is that it focuses more on face and shoulders and smartly covers the stomach and the hips. Empire waist line is particularly popular with formal dresses. The high waist line will accentuate your slim figure and makes your legs appear longer. You should pay particular attention to the accessories while attending a ballroom party. A beautiful shawl is considered mandatory with these gowns. You can wear diamonds on these occasions. A beautiful pearl set is also just right for these occasions.
Prom Evening gowns are to be worn at prom parties, wedding parties and at any other social event such as award ceremony. Though prom dresses have undergone drastic changes, still, long length gowns are preferred at these parties. You can even dress your bundle of joy in a formal dress. You can buy infant formal dresses online. However, you need to ensure that the baby does not feel uncomfortable in the formal dress. Pay attention to shoes and accessories when you set out for the prom party. Make up is must, but ensure that you do not over do it.
